Parting 300CD Turbo
Manila beige 1982 300CD. I will be keeping some of the parts but the tubro driveline and interior parts won't be needed. The engine has great compression, the engine is still in the car so I can do the compression test again and video it. Better yet, you can do it yourself if you're close. The transmission needs a B2 servo (I think, based on the slipping between 1st and 2nd). The engine runs well and has great compression. I have photos of it somewhere. Like I said, I can do it again and get a video of the whole procedure. The interior is the lighter brown, not sure what they call the color.
If I can't get a fair price for the motor, I'll put it on my new engine stand. I have a hoist to pull the motor I got just to part this one out. I go the engine stand new just for this engine. This is currently a running car but it's not registered or insured. It's in my garage. I drove it home and found that it had more rust than I want to deal with. The dash stays. It's going in my other coupe. I need to get this started so I can devote my time to the other CD that I plan on fixing. The 81 is a NON Turbo. That's the only reason I thought about selling the engine. I plan on doing the manual conversion on the 81. Again, I need the room to get the donor 240 in the garage so I can get the transmission and related parts out of that once this is parted out. Let me know what you want and we can discuss prices. I do have a pallet I can put the motor on but I will do nothing more than take it to the shipping terminal in or around Roanoke, VA. Again, I have a hoist, I can also load it in your truck if you want to come get it. 169k on a working odometer. Car was in Washington state, then to New Jersey (SALT), then in VA. 380-410# on my gauge. I have the photos of the car/gauge with time stamps. Cold and dry. Some don't agree with those numbers. I would invite anyone who is interested to come check it first hand with your gauge. The 81 has all above 400 but was rebuilt 100k ago so I would assume the gauge is accurate. I won't part out this engine. Engine will be more or less complete less the starter, vacuum pump, p/s pump. Those may be negotiable but I would like to keep them as spares for the 81. I work a lot so I'll get back when I can get logged in. That will probably be in the evenings. I can get all the photos you may want and I'll get the compression photos. As I said, I'll be happy to do the compression test again and get a video. Last edited by wstetson3; 05-31-2015 at 11:03 PM. Reason: Miles |

Not so good. This is behind the driver's seat.

Just outside of Roanoke. The car has had some rust/body work done before I got it. I wouldn't want any body parts from it if I needed any. I know it has a little fill on the driver's side. I'm sure the rust you see is a small part of what could be on the car. The hood and trunk don't really seem to have any to speak of.

Never really looked at the seal. My understanding is that they can't be re used. I ordered a new one for my other CD, it was $125 or so if I remember correctly.
