My ignition broke and refused to turn so I spent 3 hours in a parking lot cutting the stupid thing out with a hacksaw so I could drive home.

Now I need a whole new ignition assembly if anyone has a good one for sale.

Wow that was dumb, too much on my mind. I'm usually the moderator on forums reminding people about that.... It's an 84 300td. Updated the title of the thread.

I have a very good ignition switch with tumbler and key that was removed from a low mileage 1983 300CD. This switch will fit your 1984 300TD fine. It includes the vacuum control switch as part of the ignition switch. I am sure you are aware that the key for this switch will not fit your doors.

Any later model w123 tumbler ought to work. But do you also need the steering lock?

I need the everything, the part that bolts into the steering column to lock it, the vacuum dealy bolts to it, the switch goes on the back, and the tumbler goes in the front. Whatever that's called.

My switch is good and I can start my car with a screwdriver, but everything else got destroyed when I hacksawed it apart....

I believe BWhitmore is selling exactly what I need. I can bolt my ignition switch on, plug in the vac lines and I'll be ready to roll.

unkl300d, do you have a steering column lock such as Chrisgt was looking for and BWhitmore described as having? You have one of those steering column lock pieces, with or without the lock cylinder? From what year car? How much?
