WTB: M103 Engine or Shortblock.

Looking for a good way to fix a windowed M103. Would like fresh shortblock, but a wrecked car with a good engine would work well. The recipient will be a '92 300E. Please PM if you know of anything.

I am in NorthEast Texas.

Thanks for the offer of the 2.6, but I really want to go back with a 3.0. I would have no problem going to Georgia for a good engine though.

I do have a 3.0L that I plan to use in my 190E unless I find a good M104 3.2 or 3.6 locally. It's untested but I bought it from a Mercedes indy's parts yard. He said it had a head job done on it by one of his Mercedes indy buddies, no clue what that entails. ~210k miles. I would think you can probably find something closer though.

i do have a good 116000 mile engine. 1989 300te. im having a fuel issue or possibly ignition. it sat for years and has some wiring problems, and generally looks rough, but it ran awesome for a couple days.IT runs good for a few seconds of throttle then starts cutting out. sick of ****ing with it so i guess ill part it.

I am interested in both of these engines. I might be interested in the whole te. They are both a long distance from me, but I am due a road trip anyway. How about shooting me some prices. You can PM rather than post in the open if you choose.

Thanks for the responses.

I am enormously buried in work and personal activity, so I want to give a general update to everyone who has been responding both here and via PM:

The car is 300 miles from here and the owner wants me to go evaluate the car before buying an engine. The car has sentimental attachment so I am quite sure the owner will fix it if it is as described.

SO..... It will be a few weeks before I am ready to move on this, so I hope that puts no one in a bind and I hope all the possibilities are still available to us when we get to that step.

I offer thanks to everyone for the helpful responses. We will get through this as soon as possible.
