1976 M117 engine 156K miles for sale. Smooth running As low as $1500 (long block minus all accessories and brackets) up to $2500 for the drivetrain including engine harness and ECU Here's a video of a warm start.

If I don't sell the engine, Imma gonna tag her an drive her a hard. (locker room talk) She's very cancerous, and will loose pieces on every bump,,,

I bet you already can't find that ECU.

That's the best plan. Don't hold your breath on the engine sale. Drive and enjoy it. Drive it in winter and on the salty roads and be unique, unlike all of us who store our old cars all winter so they can just get their fuel systems all gunked up instead.

Exactly. Perhaps the Ignition Control Unit (ICU) could have been the intention of the written "ECU" though.

to be honest, I never have worked on A 1976 450sl. I've parted a couple 73's (D-Jet) and they had ECU's so I ASSUMED that the 1976 would have one as well. Live and learn.

Totally different, but much simpler fuel system. It's all based on fuel pressure.
