I'm offering an injection pump out of an '86 300SDL OM603.961 engine. There are a couple of caveats:

1: The pump was sold to me as a working pull. When installed on my vehicle, the idle was very erratic and the pump refused to rev above 1000 RPM.

2: Replacing with another pump solved my issues.

3: Injector seals were replaced on this pump. When the engine was running, all 6 cylinders ran fine.


So here's the deal: The pump was pulled from a "running" car in 2014. Time, storage conditions, etc, who knows what turned the oil that was in the pump to a gummy mess. After seeing the results of the new pump I installed, I took this one apart and cleaned all the gummy mess out with carb cleaner, then applied clean Rotella oil to every metallic surface. I also pumped DieselPurge through the rack and let it sit for several days. The fuel rack went from a slow/lethargic motion to nice and snappy like it should be.

Replacing the IP is a major PITA, and I don't plan to swap again just to test this one out. I'm reasonably sure that cleaning the gummy crap out will have this one operating like it should, but I can't make any promises.

If you've read this far, you're likely interested. I'd like to see $150 + shipping for the pump. It's a gamble, and I'm aware of it, I'd rather see the pump put to use or harvested for parts. Around here it'll sit on my shelf for years and eventually disappear. Look at it this way....it's a working lift pump with a whole injection pump attached.
