I went out today to photograph the two pedal clusters. My camera battery was dead. The two clusters are quite easily distinguished from each other, by the overall design. The 126 cluster has a nice long cast aluminum brace built into the mount that takes the master cylinder which the 123 cluster does not have. Also the part numbers begin with 126 and 123 respectively.

I'll post pics when the battery is up.

123 stick pedal cluster
There are many differences between the 123 and the 126 pedal cluster. There is a long aluminum brace which provides additional support for the 126 cluster and the 126 clutch arm is aluminum. The parts are mostly different as well.
