OM617 Upper Oil Pan
I have an early OM617 oil pan that came off of a 300SD. It is meant for a vehicle equipped with a 722.1 transmission and has the oil separator drain tube installed. I do have the plug for non oil separator cars that I will add (or install for you) to the sale if you would like. I'm asking $40 plus shipping. The official part number for the pan is A617-010-26-13 (casting number is 617-014-05-02). The installed oil separator drain tube is A617-018-00-45 and the closing plug is A116-997-03-35.

I know this is an odd ball oil pan, but if anyone is in need of one (or knows someone who does), I am not firm on the price at all! I've always really wanted any parts I have to go to an actual enthusiast and not just someone random on ebay. I will be listed it there soon if no one here is interested. Thank you to anyone who may be looking.

Hi JoshuaJeeper. I am actually thinking of purchasing a 617 from a 1985 300SD to put into a Fintail. Your oil pan may make the installation easier as it seems more similar to the M180 pan that's in the car now. Your pan doesn't have the ribs that's on the 1985 pan.
What's special about your pan? Why do you call it oddball? I am new to 617s. |

I only specified that it was an "odd-ball" because of what vehicles that it came in. It will bolt up to any turbo-charged OM617 engine. It does have the fitting for the oil separator drain installed, but I do have the plug if you do not wish to utilize an oil separator. In the US, only the 1978-1980 300SD (W116) had this oil pan. All other US turbo charged engines had the ribs on the oil pan like you stated. The only thing I'm not sure off is how compatible it will be with a 722.3 transmission, other than that, it should work just fine.
