LONG TERM Part-Out 1985 300D Federal W123 new turbo, good engine, interior, dash guts
I am combining two cars into one, and will be left with a whole lot of unused parts and sections.
Please let me know if you would like something. I will probably have the project going for two months or so, maybe three or four. The car with the engine that's being parted out has 170,000 miles on it. The transmission had been replaced at some point. It is not the same tranny serial as VIN indicates. That's all i know. However, this trans is bad. Some of the things i definitely can't provide are a fully working transmission (second gear non existent, probably caused by faulty B1), a working main vacuum pump (just needs an overhaul or maybe just a valve is bad), a trunk lid (bent), wheels (i need this car to stay towable), and a perfect driver's seat (both of mine have a small-ish tear), and the body panels all have some major rust or major dents. Lots of other stuff is great. Engine fully works well (minus the vac pump of course), all three non-driver doors are good including window regulators, driver door has busted regulator (in pieces so will need replacement), lots of good interior cosmetics, etc. The turbo is "brand new" and was installed by me six months ago or so. Works very well. I had purchased it refurbished by a Mercedes certified establishment. It was spanking clean and pretty and still is very much so. I'm undecided as to whether i'll let it go because i may hold onto it for the future. But make me an offer if you like. It is shippable albeit a little heavy. Probably 45$ shipping cost within US. I am willing to remove things from both the engine and interior workings or cosmetics. I will already be opening up the entire dash to swap the main dashboards as the vinyl on the parts car is excellent. But the guts will be open soon. I have yet to decide what i need to pull from this whole section in terms of the creature comforts. I'm in the Hudson Valley, NY. About 2 hrs north of Grand Central in Manhattan. If you are in the city and want smallish items you can take the Metro North to my town and i can meet you at the station. I'm very good with packing and shipping. I use a lot of bubble wrap. I have probably shipped 500 personally sold items on ebay related to musical equipment in the past 10 years, some very fragile. This can be a simple paypal transaction under the business category so i absorb 3% fee and you get the buyer protection. Feel free to ask questions in thread so that others have the answers then as well. PM's welcome too Thanks! This will go on for a bit and i will close out the thread when the remaining skeleton gets towed away or i just give it a push down main street and it becomes an art installation half up a sidewalk with a fire hydrant under it |
What color is the car and then interior?
Thanks! |

Also, quote me the combination switch with the cruise control stalk separately from the hubcap quote. Thanks. |

I'll send a PM to you now about the cruise/stalk... |
Hi there,
I'm looking for the grommets that are associated with the holes in floor board for the front and rear driver side of the car. I've attached pictures. Front https://i.imgur.com/rOYt4Gc.jpg?1 Rear https://i.imgur.com/lMdvHQe.jpg?1 Thanks! |

Then for the rear it seems i don't even have that in my floor panel?? There is a hump of a circle shape but it's covered in the same silver/grey material as rest of floor. What function do these serve? Water protection of some sort? And might it be easy to get these for a couple dollars by part number? It looks like we may have different sizes as well. |
I'm guessing they're a way to drain water. I haven't been able to find the part numbers otherwise I'd definitely get new ones. The PO of my car removed them as there was an AC condensation leak on the floor. I've fixed that ac drain leak issue but now have holes in my floor.

How much for the diff? Previous owner of mine apparently didn't know diff oil was a thing and the spider gears have about a half-inch stripe of flat-grind across the tooth faces. :P

PM sent.
