W123 300TD antenna parts

WTB:

Looking for a replacement hirschmann 6000u antenna set up for my wagon. My motor seems to be working fine--kind of crapped out on me, but I think it was just gunked up. Seems to be working after cleaning it out.

I'm mostly interested in the exterior chrome shield and nut, plus the top most screw-on section of the shaft. So everything from the top shaft threads on up and out.

thanks!

He only asked for the antenna shaft, it comes with the nut etc. and was slightly over $40 the last time I bought a new German made Hirschmann one.....

I repair these on a fairly regular basis , some cleaning and a new shaft and most work like new again .

No one said anything about $pending $300.00 don't be silly .

Post Wagon Antennas

I learned this the hard way ~ one of my Foster boys bent the top portion then tried to "fix" it and left the antenna looking like a bobby pin .

Of course, SWMBO was driving (I bought this car for her) and didn't notice a thing and no one copped to the stupid thing they'd done .

I went and bought a really nice used $20 power antenna then discovered the wagons use a different electrical plug.... off to get a new shaft and hope the boy didn't wreck the motor/gears .

He didn't, it works again .

Then the tip got bent 'somehow' so even retracted it stands up 4" .

Life goes on .

Yeah, I'm not really looking to just save $10. So I'd be happy to check out any place that sells this stuff new. But I haven't had much luck tracking down the wagon specific parts, and would rather not have to modify anything.

I'm attaching images of the specific thing I'm looking for now, hopefully that helps.

? You want the upper housing ? .

Plenty of dead antennas out there, be specific as you're showing multiple parts .

That's not the standard four pin wagon plus you're showing....

I only need the top screw-on part of the shaft. The part that is kind of gold/bronze toned in this particular photo, the part that has the slanted shape to fit against the body of the wagon. I don't know what that plug is from but its the best photo I can find of what I need. Thanks.

Post Hircshmann Part

O.K., that's a standard and common part, surely someone here will have a dead antenna they'll sell you the part from .

Failing that look on E-Bay for a cheap 'untested' one (this always means: 'I know it's broken but I'm dishonest') and buy it, scavenge the part you need and toss the rest .

Is it safe to assume the delicate threads are damaged on the one you have ? .

The one I had was glued and kind of broke apart when I removed it from the car. So its gone. I've been searching on ebay with no results. But I'm hoping someone has a parts wagon with a dead antenna they could mine for the parts.

Oh, boy ;

? You tossed out the old part before you had a good one installed and working ?! .

Remember this mistake the next time you buy any rebuilt, 'exchange' part as often you'll get a defective rebuild part and your old part is *gone* because you were to cheap to lay out the $10 core charge....

It now sounds like you're asking for a complete antenna, is that correct ? .

If only the one part, post a photo of what you have and the plug end on the _car_ end so we'll know what you need .

I feel like maybe you are confusing things here, VW. I'm not necessarily looking for a full antenna. I did throw that piece away, because it was actual garbage. The threads were totally marled and it broke apart into a few pieces when I took it out. Someone had already tried to hack it somewhere along the way. I was not considering a core charge as an option, as it was an unrepairable part. I'm not sure I consider this a mistake in this case.

As I mentioned before I am specifically talking about the part that screws onto the shaft, which is gold/bronze toned in the above photo. It's the part that has a threaded fork out to the antenna/radio cable. My antenna is a Hirschmann 6000u/466 model. For a wagon.
