I used the same exact axles when I swapped in a 2:65 LSD from a W116 into my W123 and I’m pretty sure the 2:65 is bigger than what I took out or the 2:47. Lots of folks have done the swap so I would just look at their threads and posts for their experiences

Price dropped to $350 plus shipping and Paypal fees. There will be 2 shipping charges: one is flat rate box for all the miscellaneous items (seals, yoke, et cet) which will be $15.00 priority mail and the other shipping will be for the differential itself. I am thinking Greyhound would be the cheapest way to go. I think a small piece of luggage wrapped up and shipped by Greyhound ...

Responding to WDBCB20's PM, and a few others -- I plan on just responding here on the thread because I sometimes let PMs linger, plus it's good IMO to have a repository of public responses.

This was pulled from a 1985 380SE which I understand is a W126.032

It fits no issues in a W123. W123 stopped in 1985

86 through 91 the W126 differentials are different.
the W123 will fit up to 85 and vice versa.

https://mbturbo.com/gear-ratios/ is a good place to start looking

I only can say without any doubt in my mind that my differential which I am selling will fit in a W123 no issues.

Other cars or applications, I would check around the forums. This is not the first time differentials have been swapped out and swapped around.

I quote from Linus, the host on the website you linked in answer to someone asking about fitting a 2.47 to his '84SD (126):

"... and although you need to swap the yoke, its a straight fit besides that (380SE from 81 to 85 should have it)"

Now that still does not exactly address my 85 SD. Would the yoke you include in your offer be the one he is talking about?

The yoke I am offering came from a W123 diesel. I think the yoke on it now would fit your application being 1985 W126. I can picture it and try to get some measurements. I’m positive this issue has been covered in the past and this swap should be posted elsewhere

At the risk of resorting to measuring, and therefor that nasty business of "numbers", there are two sizes of flex disc and the matching yokes in this discussion. All except V8 engined cars had a flex disc with a bolt circle diameter of 90mm. The flex disc for V8 cars had a bolt circle diameter of 110mm. The one exception is the 126.125 (300SD w/ OM603) which also had a 110 flex.
Therefor, the "W123 diesel" yoke is 90mm, and the "85SD" yoke is also 90mm.

Thanks for that. It appears the take away is "measuring goes over conjecturing".

It would otherwise be a costly doorstop to have shipped. While being torn between waiting for one to pop up at the pick and pull for $40 with warranty
