WTB - W210 Becker BE1692 Radio

Hi All,

I would potentially be interested in a Becker BE1692 for my 96 300D.

Please let me know. Thanks.

Best Regards,
Louis

I have one from a parts car. It powers up , but like most it has the bad volume pot and the volume knob itself is worn badly.

I could sell cheap as a core that you could then send to Becker to refurb

Jeff

Hi Jeff,

Thanks for the offer. My Becker BE1692 radio works perfectly except for the volume control which is not responsive and the volume is not controllable.

It seems that your part unit has the same defect. Does anyone know where these can be repaired cost effectively?

Thanks.

Best Regards,
Louis

The volume control is a rotary encoder not a variable resistor. The failure you describe is common. I've replaced the encoder before but can't find my notes.

Have a look at carsteriohelp.com Also, there are 6 different but look the same radios. Try to stay away from the Alpine units unless free, the displays turn black.

for $100 you can get a
Sony bluetooth cd deck that fits right in the same slot and sounds 1000x better
