Wanted: Locking clip for S123 Lock/Hatch assembly

Hoping to find the part or even a part number for this clip. It attaches the vacuum lock rod piece to the hatch latch assembly in a wagon. Thanks in advance!

Is that for the early or later rear vacuum pod? They connect a bit differently.

Looks like something easy to hack. Paper clamp? Almost any spring clip of the right size.

Im going to say its the early since its a 1980 model year.

I have invested too much time and money to go for a hack job paper clip, but in theory that should work. I would rather pay the couple bucks this clip may cost new and be done with it. Hoping someone can help me find the part number or even the piece and will gladly pay.

Fingers crossed someone can help as I'm not seeing anything in EPC.
