WTB- 722.120 transmission 1979 300sd

I'm looking for a fully operational trans for a 1979 300SD in the NJ area. I am willing to travel a couple hundred miles if need be to pick one up.

I have a 722.112 out of a 79' 280ce with only 121k miles on it, and a 722.303 out of an 81 300TD with only 82k miles on it. I don't know if these will work for you, but its only $295 each and I am in NY, so not too far from you and I can ship if needed.

Thanks anyway. Only a 722.120 will be compatible from my research. I can't even use a 722.118.

tz:

If the valve body and governor in your existing .120 are good they can be swapped into the .112.

I have no idea what's good and what's bad in it. I'm still driving it though.

By employing all too familiar logic, we can conclude that a transmission with a bad valve body and/or a bad governor would of course be drivable.

I have exactly the transmission you need.

It has an unverified amount of miles, but I believe it has 260k. It was from a conversion 450SEL conversion, it was mated to a 78-80 300SD OM617.95 and has a matching 722.120 transmission, and what I am assuming is the matching the instrument cluster. It works as it supposed to. I drove it to Illinois from Ohio, been sitting in a garage for a few months.

Shipping is approx $350 the the Paterson, NJ if you pick it up at a freight terminal. Residential with a lift gate (bring it to you door) is $400.

100$ for the transmission and I'll start preparing to ship it. (via SAIA freight)

Message me if interested

I would like to thank Assault publicly for working with me and taking the time to send out the transmission to me. I had it professionally installed today by Autobahn Automotive here in NJ and it felt like a new car driving it from there. How nice it is to have 1st gear that works when it should and also properly shifting!

THANK YOU again!
