Mileage on the 603 pumps? Is there a difference between the 350sdl (3.5l) and 300d (3.0l) pumps? Looking to get one rebuilt with larger elements, but some in wrecking yards I'm seeing have like 400,00 miles. Can the cams or anything on hese wear out?

the 3.5 revs much lower than the 3.0

Mileage on the 87 300SD pump was 250k. The newer one from the W140 had 320k, hope that helps!
The W140 pump was from a 3.0 liter by the way. |

The w140 would be a 3.5 unless somebody swapped in a older 3.0 engine, in which case I would assume it would have the 3.0 IP as well.

Ah my mistake then. I saw the trunk badge and it said 300SD, figured it was a 3.0l. I stand corrected! Funny how MB this side of the pond dont make sense after a certain year, lol.

92-93 is 300SD and 94-95 S350 but it is the same 3.5 engine.

In theory, if you are getting new elements they will raise the max rpm for you anyway while they are in there. Now perhaps the cam in the 3.5 pump isnt as good for high rpm but my 3.0 pump is set for 6000 rpm and I have not yet gone that high with it, nor do I plan to.
As an aside, I think user babymog had a 3.5 pump maxed out and rpm raised to 5000 with good reults so it is possible despite the low factory setting.
