1984 300D, turbo OM617, head

I've got a good turbo head, off a om617. The head has been magnafluxed; no cracks.
A fellow forum member, wanted it, then didn't, then wanted it; it's packaged up, waiting for payment; no payment has been made; keeps coming up with excuses, so; IT IS NOW AVAILABLE TO WHOMEVER IS INTERESTED.

The guy that wanted it offered me $250, unless shipping for some reason was extravagant.

Thanks for your reply. I figured the shipping to Southern California to be around $125. I will look locally.

FedEx will ship up to 150 pounds anywhere in continental America for $85. You have to drop off the package at the FedEx location. Not sure if the package gets delivered to an address or if it gets picked up at FedEx facility.
Haven't checked greyhound but that might have to be dropped off and picked up at a bus station.
I was selling my 617 head to the same guy but my price was $400 delivered. Heard you were selling for $250 delivered. Thought he'd jump all over that.

FedEx will ship to your door. Not for $85 though, those prices are long gone. I've shipped two 722.xx transmissions through FedEx, about $100 each time (I did get a discount on shipping since I purchased it through my work).

I called FedEx like 2 months ago and $85 was what I was quoted. So if the price went up it did so since then.

Did some checking and a 722.6 transmission with torque converter weighs 180 pounds. So $100 sounds about right. Remember up to 150 pounds for $85. FedEx.

Well, the head is on the way to Kansas City, via Fedex. Thanks for all the additional info.
Dieselworks, I didn't know anything about your offer to him, he had said once about checking out a car at his local pull a part, but that didn't pan out.
I spent a lot of time, @ 2 hours, roundtrip to machine shop, $$ for magnaflux, 30 minutes packaging it up, 30 minutes in line at Fedex, for just a little bit of $$. Sometimes, it's just not worth the hassle.
