For Sale: Window crank inserts in colors
For 1960s - 1970s cars with window cranks that are padded. (not the rigid plastic ones from later cars - I don't have those).
There is an early style and a late style. The early style is for window cranks held in by a screw. The late style is for window cranks held in by a keyhole on the padded crank insert itself. $20 plus postage |

Are they interchangeable with the later style? I've an 81 240D.
These appear to fasten the same way as the hard plastic ones...

That's a really good question and I don't know the answer. If you want to try it and it doesn't work out you can send them back. I have a friend with a 79 300SD with manual windows. Let me ask him...

I've been informed that they are interchangeable.

I just sold some parchment ones to a guy with an 81 300D and they work fine to replace the plastic inserts.
