I'm looking for a good, relatively low mileage (150-ish K) '82-'85 SD( W123 or W126) or an '86-87 SDL in the So. Cal. (L.A./O.C) area. Most of the cars I've gone to see from the papers and online are just not that great.

I'm looking for, preferably, a 1st or 2nd owner car with original paint and interior in very good condition and with a comprehensive service history, not in need of any major work, i.e. engine/trans rebuild, timing chain, valve job, paint job, etc.

Does anyone have any leads on such a car or can anyone recommend any independent shops with good cars for sale at reasonable prices? I'm not looking for the perfect car for $3000, but I don't want to pay $6 or $8000 for something that needs a lot of work or expense, either.

What should I expect to pay for the above? I'm thinking maybe $4-6000 for an SD or $5-7000 for an SDL. Does that seem in the ballpark?
