I'm looking to upgrade my w123 to w126 brakes. Anyone have some or all of the parts needed to make this swap. Send me detail and price. Thank you.

That’s a start. Can I email you through your website to settle up? Thanks

on the early 126 rear brakes are the same as 123. The fronts take ventilated rotors and wider calipers.

Thanks for your input. I’m a 123 green-horn. I didn’t realize the rear brakes were the same on the 126 and 123. It sounds like I’m looking for a good set of front calipers and rotors. Again, thanks.

The w126 is gen1 (1985 and earlier) and gen2 (1986 and later). Gen2 brakes are the ones you want to go with. A buddy of mine did this swap on a w123 rally car at his shop. I will have to ask him what he did. He put a 560sel motor into a 240d. You need to also get modified or larger rims for the bigger calipers! That's the reason the w126 Gen2 use 15" wheels and the gen1 w126 use 14" rims. I also believe the wheel hubs and bearings (front and rear) are different sized as well.

All these parts are cheap enough to obtain and I know a lot of pick and pull yards are having new year's sales and w126's are pretty common and not too picked over like the w123's are

Sticking with the first gen will be very simple. The brakes are pretty effective even stock.

Does a W123 really _need_ a brake upgrade?

Thanks guys. I'd love to stay with 14" wheels - given the sleeper theme. What a great forum!
