For Sale - W123 REAR Swaybar (torsion bar) 15mm

Gauging real interest. These are NLA. AMERICAN MADE identical reproductions

15mm or a hair thicker so not precisely the same so this should hopefully ward off the trolls. These sold out years ago. There was a rush on these once the word got out. Used in police cars and limos and factory made taxis.

Last one sold for $350 and it was “gently used” per the seller. All the true taxis and service vehicles from North Africa are gone

Price point would be $225 each plus shipping and PayPal fees

I am buying five regardless

If interested please enter your interest on this thread. This would not include replacement bushings

13mm

This would be 5/8th so hair above 15mm.

Folks can look up the mm to inch conversion

If all bar dimensions, with the exception of the diameter, remain the same, the torsional stiffness of the bar will be 77% greater at 15mm vs. 13mm. Torsional stiffness changes with the fourth power of the diameter.

I know the wagon front sway bar (torsion bar) at 25mm vs 23mm or 24mm sedan bar makes a significant, positive improvement. I think the rear will be the same Those few on STD who did the swap said 2 thumbs up

Yes, even a 1mm change results in measurable change in stiffness (20%). But that assumes comparing solid vs solid or hollow vs hollow.

Generally, increasing the rear bar will reduce understeer (or increase oversteer, however you want to look at it).

I'm in for one, maybe two.

13mm is OEM on the W123. These would replace 13mm for 5/8th which is a hair above 15mm.

The OEM size has already been noted in the previous post(s)

I definitely will take one, thanks for making these.
Any luck in polyurethane bushings to match the bar?
