Yes that is me and I know it's rough that's why it's for parts. How do i identify what gear ratio the diff is?

gear ratio

It is stamped on the casing. Crawl under and find out is the only sure way. Stock for 1983 turbo was 3.07. 1985 got the 2.88, with a differently calibrated speedo.

However, by looking at the needle bezels, that speedometer and tri-gauge cluster could be correct for your year. The tachometer looks to be from a slightly earlier car (silver needle bezel).

It has the 3.07 diff. The exhaust system is in good condition, genuine mercedes rear muffler.

For anyone in your local area, that trans is probably good. Probably just a broken B2 piston.
