WTB: W124 engine wiring harness 1244402933
Hi. Anyone out there have a good used upgraded Delphi engine wiring harness for my 1995 E320? The part number is 1244402933.
I just bought the car and it has a slight misfire. I'm hoping that replacing the harness might correct the problem. Just drop me an message with price. Thanks. Bruce (dcman2003) |

Have you been able to confirm the current harness is original and/or bad? Bad harnesses are usually detectable by observing cracked insulation.
A common reason for misfires on the M104 is worn spark plugs and bad plug connector/boots under the coils (3). Good luck!!!

Check behind the battery, your harness will have a build date on it. I have an m104 car with new engine harness and what feels like a random skip that I have narrowed down to a bad eta harness

Badgator is right: I needed 5632 harness
Thanks Badgator! As you mentioned it is definitely the 5632 harness I needed. I got really lucky and already had this for use on my '94 E320. I bought it on Ebay about a year ago and didn't need it for my '94. Glad I didn't put it back on ebay!
I started putting the harness on today and I'm about half way done. Ran out of daylight. I've heard it's about 1 &1/2 hrs total install time, but I'm being meticulous and replacing a few other items along the way. Hopefully, this will take care of the slight misfire. If not, I may be hunting for an ASR throttle body for it. I'm positive it also has the same bio-junk wiring. Anybody know if you have to remove the throttle body to check the part number? Thanks to everyone for offering advice. I'll get cracking again in the morning and hopefully beat the rain rollin' in. Bruce (dcman2003) |

For a slight misfire it could be a plug wire

Yes it could be a plug wire or a COP connector. Had this a couple of times on a 104. Look for a light gray talc like powder on the COP connectors at junction between the rubber and the first part of exposed spark plug porcelain. If powder is present they are bad and causing a misfire.
Good luck!!!

Thanks Jay and Sugar Bear. You guys may be right about the plug wires/connectors causing the misfire. I have changed all the plugs, wires and COP connectors, but I won't know until I've finished putting in the upgraded engine wire harness.
I have only the 3 connectors and ground terminal in the front to take care of,then just a matter of getting everything buttoned up. I had to stop working this afternoon because of rain. One of those connectors down behind the power steering pimp was a real bear to plug in, but I got it. This was more than just the 90 min job I thought it would be. The old harness was falling apart at some of the connectors and when I doubled a section of it over I watched the insulation peel right off some of the wires like it was dried paint. It was way past time to change it. I'll finish it up tomorrow. Thanks again for the pointers! Bruce (dcman2003) |
