Beware Nigerian scammers... michealjonathan101
Not sure how to report people, but be warned.
michealjonathan101 is straight out of Lagos. I realize some of you guys have had limited experience with scammers. When you see a name like that, with zero post history, that requests you contact him offsite, alarm bells should be ringing.

Can you be a little more specific? I usually do transactions via email, not PMs on a forum. Much easier.

Thanks for the heads up. I received a message from him to email a Mark Coney for a parts request.

I also received an email from him requesting that I can contact Mark Comey about a small clip. He stated “you can thank me later”. I emailed Mark and he wanted $50 for a $1 part with no picture. No thanks.

Yeah, that's basically how it looks.
Scooter -dealing with someone over email isn't the decisive factor. It's the multitude of factors that together makes someone suspicious. The names these guys often choose are comically generic "Michael Jonathan," "Mark Coney." Notice the lack of detail provided - you were not given a name, just an email address from which you deduced the name yourself; no reference to the part you requested, no location... no post history or sign of history with this board. These are generic scammers targeting sites where the median age of poster is much higher than average. This is such a niche, under represented hobby, I'm surprised to see them here. In any event... keep your wits about you. =)

If I remember correctly I was contacted in early December and noticed that Micheal Jonathan had just joined the forum also in December 2019. I suspected something amiss.
