15" wheel lug inserts
Looking for a set of five wheel lug inserts. These are the knock out parts which fit in the wheel. I don't need the rim so if you've got a junk rim they are easy enough to drive out using a punch/bar. These are the "saucer" style factory alloy rims used on the second generation W126's, etc.
Don't need the rim, just the knock-outs/inserts. I have a re-furbished rim which when it was re-done, they didn't replace the inserts. It was my spare and has been residing in the boot for the entire time I've owned the car. Never had the occasion to use it and other than checking it for air pressure never thought about it. Glad I decided to check it the other day and didn't find this out when I might have needed it.

We are talking about the pie pan wheels with the deep lug holes. Correct? I’ve never heard of someone removing the inserts during a refurb. They are so deep in there. It seems like such a waste of time and effort. Did they not give you the inserts back? We’re they too corroded to be cleaned up and reused?

Not that it matters but I got the rim at a yard sale and never checked to see if the inserts were there.
It was a complete refurbish with what appears to be either a glossy powder coat or a baked on lacquer/enamel, not a haphazard spray job. Much like when wheels are re-chromed the inserts are removed to not only ensure the coating is thorough but also to prevent the surface coating around the insert areas cracking when lugs are removed or replaced. So,do you have an old/cracked rim you have no need for?
