WTB 240D TDC Sensor
I am looking for a "TDC Sensor" as Mercedes calls it for my 1982 240D. It can also be referred to as a rpm pickup. I did the 240D with EGR tachometer conversion but I believe my sensor is bad. A good one should read about 80 ohms of resistance and mine only reads 68 ohms. The sensor I am looking for has a cylindrical plug with only 2 contacts on the driver's side inner fender.
Looking to buy a used one from a member to try to save over buying a brand new one. Let me know if you have one. |

I apologize if I am wrong, but I think the prior post is a scam/phishing effort.

Nope, totally bogus.
These guys all use the same stupid and generic names. They make it pretty obvious. If you're clever enough to recognize them, you're not the person they're targeting.

WTB: 1983 compatible 240D TDC sensor
I'm in the same situation, doing the 240D tach transplant on my 1983 and getting no signal, I tested the tachometer and know it's good, The EGR module is sending voltage out to the sensor. I checked the top dead center pickup sensor and it read open circuit. I even tested it at several different crank positions but no matter what I got open circuit. If it was good it should have registered a resistance (~80 ohms from what I found).
I believe the part number is 002-153-02-28. I checked online with the dealer and they say it has been discontinued. I also checked Ebay, no luck at the moment. On my OM616 it is right near the timing chain stretch dial indicator and has a grey wire coming out of it then under the power steering pump and over near the glow plug relay. It ends in a round connector that looks like a big RCA connector, with 2 connections, a center pin and a round outer circle. I've seen it called both a TDC sensor and an RPM sensor, on my vehicle the EGR module reads it. Any help sourcing one of these would be appreciated!
