OM617/616 REBUILT MW Lift Pump FOR SALE
As pictured, a completely rebuilt lift pump. This includes the mod'd spring, Bosch Rebuilt kit, and new primer pump. Not the cheap Bosch primer pump, but an all steel primer pump. Includes a Bosch brand gasket. The Bosch kits do NOT include a spring. This is the mod'd spring I have been selling for a few years. This spring is a companion to the OFV spring I have been selling for a few years as well.
I do NOT need your core back. It is not painted. It is too cold and windy to paint, but if the weather changes, I will try to spray it black. No promises on a paint job. $139.00 shipped CONUS. Shipped USPS Priority Mail with $150.00 worth of insurance, includes PayPal fees. If you break down your individual cost elements, You're looking at around $40 bucks for the rebuilding service. That is: JY core charge for lift pump: $15 Bosch Kit: $28 Mod'd spring: $20 Shipping: $18 PayPal fees: 3.9 Primer Pump: $15 This is the same exact service I have been doing for a while. Please see www.dieselfuelinjector.guru PM if interested |

when I try to start my car after it sits for 3+ days it is very hard to get it to start. Have to crank the starter for 10+ seconds and floor the throttle to get it to start and feather it to keep it going just for a few seconds after that and then it runs fine.
To me it's very similar as to when I run out of fuel or whenever I have to purge the fuel system. I was thinking the lift pump may be leaking or losing pressure. Does this seem to make sense to you or are there any tests I can do to pin point or confirm the problem. I just don't want to shotgun new parts for no reason. Figured I'd ask you your opinion because ur pretty familiar with the fuel system. engine is 617.950 turbo diesel 617 pre egr era

Are your clear lines clear enough to see into them? If so, you can see spaces which is air. If you see air then you have a leak somewhere

On a W123 there is limited places air can get in. The old type of hand primer I described is one and the 2 sections of hose with the plastic filter in between are the other common sources of an air leak. The hose only costs a few dollars replacing it is an easy way to trouble shoot for that area. If you still have the old style hand primer pumping on it usually has it leaking out fuel which is a good indication that it could be the source of an air leak.

I dunno something's odd with my pump I think. Sometimes I get a lot of smoke out the back sometimes I get a little. Sometimes a get a big amount of blow by sometimes there is hardly any. The engine will surge up rpms at idle and then correct itself. Can't start it without giving it some gas. Etc etc
