Wanted FI pump for M130 1968-9 280 SE
My FI pump needs refurbishment but works well enough to keep driving, but as the car is my daily driver I don't want the down time to get my pump refurbished. So my scheme is to buy and refurbish a pre-1970 Bosch pump and have it calibrated to 1968-9 specs. My theory is the pump setup will improve performance over the pollution control influenced 1970 version. I can then sell my pump as is or possibly refurbish it and keep it.
The pump needs only be in good enough condition to be a refurbishment candidate. Brad |

Just curious, what numbers would someone be looking for on their pump?
I am in the process of trying to get the parts car in my driveway running and have stalled due to a heavy (paid job) work load and lots of kids sports activities. I cleaned my injector pump from this car that appears to have last been registered in 1986, and it appears to be a 1969 or early 1970 model. It appears that the check valve on the cylinder 4 port is not working because although the cylinder would pump when not under pressure, it seems to be not pumping now. I guess it’s possibly I clogged something after cleaning it, but someone on peach parts read through all my posts and helped by suggesting this. Last thing I did when trying to get the car running off a zero pressure fuel system of a bottle hanging from the hood was to realize that the points were fried, and purchased and installed new points. I am learning on this 1969 280se before I try to bring the 1967 250se 4-speed (that’s in my garage) back to life. These two cars fill the max I want to have at my home, and are now keeping me from getting to the convertibles now that convertible season is here. I can’t even drive my kids to sports in the convertibles because they are stored away in a farm rotting. I don’t even have time to drive one of the w126 beater cars to the farm and drive a convertible back. 80 degrees and sunny beautiful yesterday and I’m driving my son to track practice in the filthy Honda Ridgeline full of tools. So what was I talking about? An injection pump? What numbers should I look for? It seems to be one of the most valuable parts on the car, isn’t it?

So Fonzi your car has the R20Y injection pump. That's the best version for total performance. I am going to attempt to get my R24Y pump rebuilt with a three dimensional cam from an R20Y.
I will keep an original version so that the car be revereted to as delivered. |

Found an R24Y and a three dimensional cam from an R20Y. Going to use fueling specs for the R20Y when the R24Y is rebuilt and calibrated. Rebuilder says he sets these up on the rich side for ethanol based fuels. I have asked him not as I run ethanol free 93 most of the time.

A forum member sent me an r20y injection pump and I’m wondering if I should prefill the pump with oil and if so how much. One more shot getting this pile running.
