First of all, do you mean for a W123 300TD? I'm assuming so.

Unfortunately, the seat is the easiest part and often someone will grab one from a parts yard and not get the HUGE quantity of other things that are needed.

The things that I can think of that people forget to get:

1. Second row headrests - all third row seat wagons have 2nd row headrests
2. Metal bracket that goes on back of second row seat back in the middle - this is what the 3rd row seat rests against.
3. Interior C-pillar / side paneling - this is a bit of a pain to remove from a car the first time you try. But you need it, and the seat belts for the third row seat that are behind the panel. Easiest if you remove the second row seat bottoms from the car when you are trying to uninstall/reinstall.
4. The floor panel (for lack of a better description) - you currently have a sort of storage area - the cover and thing below the cover go and are replaced but something entirely different.
5. All of the actual nuts and bolts and hinges etc. That's probably what you think you need, but there is SOOO much more...
6. Seat belt receivers. I already mentioned the seatbelt parts behind the C-pillar.
7. The carpet cover and hardware that replaces the existing rigid door that exposes your existing storage compartment.

Think long and hard about whether or not this is worth it to you. You basically have to find a donor car that hasn't been hacked at already. I've removed and sold complete setups before (years ago) and also sold the one installed in my 85 300TD because I didn't want it. It's heavy and I never once used it. Also make sure your rear panel door interior handle works - this is often broken in cars with third row seats because the latch assembly is pot metal. In cars that didn't have third row seats, the rear interior release is usually fine. So this probably isn't an issue for you.

Good luck and report back! I checked and I no longer have pics of the removal/installation, sorry.

Scott
