WTB - W124 Rear Crossmember Unibody Panel
My w124's crossmember is torn, and the new part has been discontinued. Seeking someone with a donor vehicle who's capable of cutting out theirs.
MBZ Part number is 1246100216, and it is #50 in the image below. It looks like the part is the same on the w124 chassis from 86 to 96 Please PM if available! Cheers, Eric |

Hi Eric,
Have a 92 Sportline that I’m parting out and could cut it out for you. Shipping however may not be worth it from KS to CA. What price did you have in mind. Does not look like a easy part to remove. |

Do ya think it could be cut out and shipped for under $250?

I don't see any part # 50 in the diagram. Could you perhaps circle it? Is it specific to a sedan or wagon?
You're looking for the rear cross member? That is going to be a massive bear of a job to pull everything out and cut the metal you need. I am in socal and could probablyl cut the piece out. Shipping will depend on how bulky the item is and my price will depend on how much effort it takes to cut it out. |

I’m sure it could be cut and shipped for less than $250. Probably not that heavy once out, just bulky. Let me know if you want me to take it out or if you find something closer.

You've not clarified where part #50 is on the diagram.
That will determine if I can cut the part for you, but if you have a local yard that can do it maybe you found your own solution |

Not a yard or business, just an individual who likes playing with Mercedes.
Have you looked to see what it will take to weld it into the car? Looks to be quite integrated in the structure. Any possibility in fixing the current piece. Don’t get me wrong, happy to cut it out and ship you want. Would try to get it out and shipped before the end of the week. |

It is most likely spot welded to the unibody structure from the factory. You would just need to find the spot welds and drill them out to remove it. Cutting it will open a can of worms and damage the unibody structure and I would not suggest that on your car if you're putting it back on the road. For a junk car it won't matter, of course..
It will be a very difficult part to pull, requiring complete removal of the rear subframe. If someone already has a bare shell with subframe removed, they'll be your best bet to do this cheaply. |

Yes, your part looks bad and replacing it probably the best route. Will take some work to get it out, but willing to give it a try. Would cut well outside the spot welds and that way you can figure out how you want to separate it.

Right on, that seems like a good way to go. What would you estimate the cost to be, for the work? |

Don’t really know as it will take some effort to get it out. Looks like your vehicle is a wagon and as long as the part is the same on a sedan which I would think it is.
It will probably take me 3-4 hours to remove. No clue on the shipping until I get it out. What’s your zip code? PM sent with my email and number. |
