Scarce this far north. I am trying to contact a guy in Ontario that may have parts we both need. He seems to have about fifty cars.

So far no response. Before I drive there from the east coast I have to know what is available and the price.

You can run into situations with parts sellers for old cars. Like insane prices. Or they are real nut jobs, Or more kindly called other definitions. I want a rear end and speedometer out of a 1985 for example. Corresponded with a guy that wanted 1200.00 Canadian . For the rear end alone. Not that scarce or unobtainable at this time.

I assume you know the front fenders are identical on all 123s. Remember easier to remove on the later years. Early years were glued on as well.

Make a list of all your expected needs as I think used parts for these are going to increase in cost as so few are hitting the wrecking yards. If I get in contact with him I will let you know. He may just be slow responding or never checks his emails. Yet this is not a great start.

At worse you may find someone in your area that hauls body parts up from the south on special order.

Think twice about aftermarket fenders. There may still be some around. They use a much thinner gauge of steel. He is eight to nine hundred miles from me. I have quite a list. I also need the stainess trim off off a 114 coupe. Had it off to paint the car and something heavy fell on it.

Thanks for the reply Barry.

You make some good points with regards to dealing with the used parts market, both from a seller perspective and from a quality perspective.

If you happen to get in touch with this guy and need for me to check out something for you (if I am closer to the yard), feel free to PM me and I won't mind taking some extra pics or giving you my opinion.

All the best in your search!

One of our daughters lives fairly close. So due for a visit. I saw two pictures and the cars probably have been there a long time. I did notice the fenders looked good on what I saw. It is not the conventional wrecking yard.

If worse comes to worse I will try getting the son in law to check out the place. Or at least give me his perspective. I really have to talk to this guy as something is up. He claims he sells parts but the cars look complete.

All those fenders should have been long gone this far north. I will of course keep you informed yet it is going to take some time I suspect. I am not paranoid by nature. I just have a suspicion something is not quite right. I hope I am totally wrong. I knew this guy existed years ago. I also agree buyers can be a problem. I do not fit into that group..

To put it bluntly. How could the cars in general look pretty well complete if he has been selling parts for years? Plus the no response when I suggested I might be up in that area this spring. The other possibility is the pictures he has up may be very old.

Actually I will try again today to contact him. I preferably want a phone number. He could be away of course has not slipped my mind.

If I cannot get him. I will give you the information to try in a week or two. I estimate he is about 250 miles from Toronto.

I have California fenders and all the parts needed. Shipping is just very expensive on the fenders, that's the main issue. No cheap way to ship/pack them.

Warning to others about this "Mark Smith". He's sending a message from a phone model that is primarily sold in the following countries "Nigeria. Ghana. Kenya. Uganda. Tanzania. India. Pakistan." Definitely a scammer that unfortunately this forum has allowed many to get through to post. Careful to those who ask to email you directly.

Hello,

I am still looking for 2 W123 front fenders and the brackets which sit under the rubber front bumper.

I am located in Toronto, Ontario and would travel for pickup within a reasonable distance.

Please let me know if you know or any for sale or got some yourself.

Thank you
