I guess sometimes deals fall through. Would it really be worth your time to keep fighting lebenz about it? Who cares? Just move on. Sometimes you just have to walk away.

Austin,

Good advice, except you always need to remember the folks who handle their business this way. The only thing worse than getting bit by a snake, is not paying attention, causing you to get bit by the same snake twice.

Question A man's word is his bond ? Tracy? Man?

Just a couple of snippets from “The World According to Tracy”
03-19-2002 09:51 AM
“Jeez, Tracy, if you were not willing to do anything to remedy the core problem, even though you obviously knew about it, why not be a responsible man and just pay for the replacement, rather than trying to screw and defraud someone else for your irresponsibility.

What kind of person are you?”
03-20-2002 09:44 AM
“Upon reflection, I’d like to suggest that (Tracy) probably doesn’t have the money to do the right thing. I’d bet he knows that (honoring his commitments) is little more than a band-aid to mask the bigger problem. Folks tend to act out of a perceived need for survival, so, of course, if he doesn’t have the $ for a (deal) he sure doesn’t have it for repairs to (the cabin in the woods!).

It is likely that he feels his safety at risk, and knows that (screwing sisgo2gs) will side step this issue, for a while. Perhaps he feels this need strongly enough to justify (to himself anyway) trying to scam one.

All and all I’d have to call (Tracy’s) part in this thread a desperate albeit short-sighted plea for help. Of course, desperation tends to lead to short-sightedness…
http://www.peachparts.com/shopforum/showthread.php?threadid=34025&perpage=15&pagenumber=1

And a couple more words of wisdom…..

“It is up to you but you can turn this into another exercise in arrogance or you can grow a little. What is it gonna be?”

How strict are your State Police?

BillyBob,

I'm sure you're not talking about LeBenz. He told me in a thread last August that he is an Oxford Graduate. It would be impossible for an Oxford graduate to be that low on money.

Have a great day,

I wasn't going to chime in here, but I think a little moderating is necessary.

1. Tracy you made a deal, I think you should follow through even though it seems to have become more trouble to yout han its worth. Thats just my opinion.

2. You have an offer by 2phast to come pickup the bar and ship it for you. Thats a hell of an offer, and if it was me, I would take him up on it.

3. You may have sold it for only $22.00 but its still $22.00 more than throwing it in the trash.

4. Before this whole thing gets out of hand, please contact sisco and try to work it out. you have been givena few options to assist you in making this deal happen.

5. that is all i have to say. Lets try to all get along here and do the right thing.

Alon,

I was wondering when you would chime in.

Dude LeBenz, just have 2phast give you $22 bucks, then let 2phast take care of the shipping with sisco. That wont even waste your time. Just try to go through with the deal and work it out. What else can we at MS do for you to help the deal go through?

Oh, Okay,Sorry, I think the Ebay rule should still apply either way, its logical and morally correct. I made an assumption, and like i say... " Assumption is the mother of all f***ups."

Angry Let me pipe in...

A few months ago I was flamed because a certain member was asking for advice on how to (let me try to put it as delicately as possible) separate a certain tire company from its money by trying to get a worn out tire replaced under the hazard warranty. I was flamed because I attempted to take the high (moral) road and argue that ripping off a tire company was morally indefensible and furhter arguing that assisting a member in such misdeeds was equally indefensible.

Now the same people who flamed me are flaming Lebenz because he will not go through a deal that he made with a fellow member. There appears to be an internal inconsistency here that betrays a certain mindset: it is OK to rip off a tire company but it is not OK to "cheat" a member out of a $22.00 deal. Can anyone here spell IRONY?

Having written the above, however, I have the following (unsolicited) advice to give:

1. Lebenz, don't ruin your reputation for a mere $22.00, or whatever it costs you to ship the darned part. Take 2phast up in his offer, give him the $22.00 (after you get paid) and let him ship the part. It is not worth the aggravation....(or the sullied reputation) and it is certainly a better alternative than just dumping the sway bars in the trash.

2. Lebenz, you should cut it out with the sexist put downs. What's up with calling people here "girls," as if that was something bad. I come from a woman, I am married to a woman and I have daughters. I personally happen to think that God finally got it right when he made woman. Trying to insult us by calling us "girls" only demeans you. You should know better.

3. Larry, making fun of Lebenz' Oxford education (or lack thereof ) is a cheap shot. It is akin to making fun of hilbillies from the South, and we all know how much you like that. Prejudiced is as prejudiced does.

4. The rest of you (us) haven't we got better things to do in the summer time? As Alon suggested, let these two boys work it out and let the rest of us concentrate on fun things, like making fun of people who drive rice-grinders.

OK boys and girls....that's all for now.

Call it a cheap shot if you wish. He threw his being an Oxford graduate at me as if that made him smarter on more morale than any one on the planet, belittling me in the process. I only threw it back at him when the opportunity presented itself.

I certainly hope that I was not implicated in ANY effort to rip off any body, tire company, individual or anyone. If that's what anyone thought, I can assure you I was misunderstood. I hope it was not me you were talking about.

Have a great day,
