Two things would help:
1) The part number of the pump.
2) Within the sales designation "280SE" there are different engines and their different pumps. Which engine is that pump for?

Part number is 0442 201 002

Pump was purchased by Mercedes mechanic for his 1972 280SE but will fit many other models from that era.

The engine in the 1972 280SE was a 2.8 6 cyl. with MFI.
