FS: Original MB Euro W124 lights

A gently used set (2-years old) of GENUINE Mercedes Euro W124 1986-1993 headlights (has the "STAR" on them).

They come with vaccuum actuators for those who want headlight level control, and the 5W "city light" which you can wire into your parking lights. I now have Euro 500E lights instead.

$375 pair/OBO.

You can see them here with the "city light" activated:

I accept PayPal.

How much of an improvement are the Euro 500e headlights over the US 500Es.? I have high intensity 80-100 watt bulbs in my 500E, and it is night and day compared to my 300E.
How much were they?

tom,

The amount of light is all in the reflector. The high power bulbs add a limited improvement. The high power bulbs develop too much heat and will ultimately cause you problems. I would recommend using standard bulbs. I think you will find a minimal loss of light. That's been my experience anyway.

Good luck,

I'm running 'faux' hi-intensity/ hi-wattage bulbs in my E500 euros:

Osram SilverStar E1-Code Bulbs 55/60W +50%
(addl xenon- they say)

>not as white/blue as HID, and a definite improvement over D)T E500 Bosch units w/ DOT bulbs

Neil:

I tried to send you an email regarding your lights. Did you receive it?

Thanks.

My pleasure and nice doing the transaction with you. The headlight units came in terrific condition! Once installed, if I can ever figure out how to post a picture, I'll show you all just how they look.
