Hi, in editing this posting I have caused even more confusion, I originally offered a free Mercedes Ml trip computer in exchange for info( the part number for the remote compass module) and any info on buying the bezel with the window for the lcd display on the trip computer.
I have since given out two trip computers and bought a compass module and sent it to another member to try to get it working with the trip computer. We since found that the central informer would also need to be repalced or possibly reprogramed to bring up the compass function on the trip computer.
If your car came with the compass module and your trip computer is bad, this unit will workwith it and the compass function will apear.

The dealer price on this unit isnow 620.00 but I'm selling them with instructiond for 75.00
I have a number of new Mercedes ML Series Trip Computers A163 540 52 11 and
have sold a number of them with instructions on how to install it yourself
in any ML that didn't come from the factory although they can also replace
any defective unit that did come with the car too. It requires cutting a
square hole for the LCD display which would not be required if the fascia
panel was available from Mercedes, but as of yet I have not had any luck on

Sorry for any confusion for not updating this old post where I wanted info on the remote compass module part number for the trip computer the number is: 163 545 57 32 . I also have exhausted any chance of buying the bezel that is needed for adding the trip computer without modifying the old one.
PS:
If your old trip computer stops working try cleaning or replacing fuses 10 and 13.
