Bad blower motor regulator wanted

Hi. Anyone got a bad blower motor regulator for a W140 S Class heading for the trash? Looking for one to experiment with.
Please let me know... happy to pay the shipping...
There's gotta be a way to repair these...
Thanks, KenP

S500,
Thanks for the reply, but I'm looking for a bad regulator that someone is throwing out (as in trash).. not a working one.
There's one on eBay right now... some guy is trying to get 10 dollars for it for the last couple weeks and can't...
Anyway, his ad got me thinking... why can't these be repaired?
I'm pretty handy with electronics... thought if I could find a bad one, I'd cut it open and see if there was a fix. If so, I could post it here for all.
Not familiar with the term "carbons"... presume you're talking about the brushes in the motor?

Ken, I may have one for you!

Ken, I may have a blower motor and regulator for you. I started my car the other morning and voila, no heat. I tried putting the fan to max, changed the temp from high to low, and tried the defrost. No such luck. All I heard was a slight ringing noise (kind of like when your ear rings) in the cabin. I took the car to an indy and he said tha the blower motor and regulator were bad. I am in the process of waiting for the warranty company to inspect the car and approve the claim. If they do not take the BM and Reg, I will let you know and you could have them.

Now, if they are both actually bad, I don't know. My assuption is that they are b/c the fan was not blowing at all. Am I correct to assume that if the blower was erratic then the problem lies with the regulator, since that controls the power to the blower.

MPM77- thanks. Let me know what happens.
Wouldn't surprise me if they both were bad... my understanding is that if the motor seizes, the surge current through the regulator can fry the contoller...
Good luck.

Ken, sorry to inform you that my mechanic threw out the blower motor and regulator.

I went to pick up the car and I had to leave it overnight because I felt my steering binding (he put a new pump and gear box). I told him that I wanted the blower motor and regulator and he said no problem. The next day I go to pick up the car and ne said one of his workers mistakenly threw out the parts. In addition to that, this guy rang up a $4700 bill ($4200 was paid by my warranty), which included the blower motor, regulator, ball joints, steering pump, and steering box and he wanted to charge me $100 for an alignment! Add to that the fact that the $500 that I paid him covered my $100 deductible, $300 for parts, and $100 for fluids! This was the first and last time I ever go to this rip off!

Regards

Michael

Michael,
Many thanks for the attempt... sorry to hear your visit to the tech left you disappointed. One has to wonder if S500 doesn't have a point...
Its unfortunate that a few bad techs spoil it for all the great ones out there...

Joe,
Hi. I'm in Northern VA, just below Washington, DC...
Short delivery for the UPS or USPS guy...
If you'd consider sending it, I'll be happy to cover the cost.
Lemme know.

Interesting project. . .

My went bad two years ago, I thought about fixing it but didn't save it. From the picture, it appears that you may be able to get the cover off. If so, you may be able to repair it! Great idea!
