Id like a newer one that says 'Mercedes Benz' on the cassette cover, but an older one is fine, its going into my 83 300D. I just need to be sure that there are no scrathces, odd marks, and that all backlighting works properly.

what year was the grand prix in? i took my radio out and dont remeber what it looks like anymore i might have one

They were used all the way from 83 or so until 93 or later. There were a bunch of changes in the radio's display and faceplate, but it was more or less the same.

If your unit is working fine, it is possible to just replace the face plate. The shop that installed my eBay purchased Becker told me that it is trivial to replace the face plates. Mine was okay with a little bit of cleanup so we kept it. Don't know costs, but has to be less than a full unit.
