I've noticed that some of the 500E owners are replacing their stock springs with either H & R springs or 400E / E420 springs.

I don't know why, but with the SLS (self-leveling) system that 500E's have, the springs are more softly sprung that other springs.

Take a gander what some of them are doing over in the Performance sub-forum and / or www.500ecstacy.com .

In particularly, take a look at Guido's posts.

If you have your heart set on stock 500E springs, then I'm sure Guido will sell you his.

I will give you a set of very new, slightly used E500 rear springs once I switch them out. You pay shiping and handling.

You should carefully consider what you are doing with them. Don't be fooled by the sporting aura of the 500. The rear springs, like those on a 190E 2.3-16, are designed to work in tandem with the self-leveling system. In isolation they do not work properly.
