W140 Windshield Trim - where can I get it?
While scraping the 1/4 inch of ice off the front glasss of my '95 S500, a piece of sheet ice must have dislodged the upper windshield trim, because it promptly flew off the vehicle as soon as I reached 30 mph. It was destroyed on the highway. That pissed me off.
Anyone know where I can get a replacement? Used? Thanks - Kevin |

Try www.car-part.com
You can search by model, make, and year. Although most of the salvage yards post an email address, I've found through experience that its best to call... Hope this helps.

The moulding if black isn't that expensive from the dealer and you can buy whichever piece you need but if its the burnished one hold onto your hat as its very expensive I believe over $500

Yeah...
I'm searching for a used one. The problem with these low production cars is that good used parts are really hard to find!

Good news...
Called Fletcher Jones MB in Chicago - they are ordering the piece for $65.00. Not bad afterall.

I have an extra one, replaced the windshield and ended up using the old one anyway. It was $60 or so, I would have to look at the bill. Where are you, shipping might be a problem as it is an odd shape? (I am in the Detroit area)

I looked at it last night, the one that I have is the original one that was on the car, a little dirty but still in perfect shape. Is it not really chrome, but has a chrome like "smoked" finish.
How does $50 plus shipping sound? |

I appreciate the reply, but the $50 plus shipping is going to be the same or more than the new one, without the risk of shipping damage. Thanks anyway!
