I checked out the cruise control amp and it is a 14 pin amp. The amp in my 300D is also a 14 pin amp. I don't know if the Amp from the 81 300SD will work in the 83 300D, but I do know they have the same pin-out. I'll have to get both of them out to compare the part numbers.

If I get around to selling it I will post it here first.

electric seat switch

I could use an electric seat switch. If seat covers are tan/palomino-I could use front seat back covers.

Need replacement rotors all around if in good shape. How bout tach/clock assy and speedo?

Thanks.

Seats are tan., But I don't know about separating out just the seat backs. Won't that make the rest of my seat worthless? I don't know because I have never parted out a car before.

The speedo cluster all worked fine on the way home with the exception of the tack, but it worked intermittently so I suspect the problem with it is not in the cluster. The cluster shows 126,000 miles. I have yet to figure out how to get it out. There are no scratches or any markings so I want to get it out without any marks. I looked on Ebay to try to get a baseline for price and it looked like $45 was a good price.

I'm not sure how good a shape the rotors are because there is definitely one bad one. It really shook bad when I hit the brakes driving it home. That will be one of the last things I take off the care anyway. My wife wants the car to be moveable as long as possible.

I'm taking my time getting the car apart mainly because I don't know what I'm doing and I don't want to tear anything up getting it apart. The dash in this car is in perfect condition, but getting it out without hurting it is going to be a real challenge.

300 sd parts

Up to you whether to separate seat covers are not. I only need one tan seat cover-not the seat back. I am finding lots of good seats, just not in the upholstery color I need. Go figure.

I need speedo/odometer/tach/clock assy. Let me know if you wish to extract. I'm going to have to figure it out myself. Why not post a thread asking for technical advice?

Let me know.

Thanks.

Could you post a pic or part number for the exhaust bracket that mountson the transmission bell housing? I need this whole bracket, but don't know if it would fit a w116.
Thanks
David

Exhaust System

Hey, this sounds really lame, but what's the condition of the exhaust system from the head pipe back?

Did you ever get a chance to look at the exhaust bracket I asked for?
Thanks

rebel_gtc,

I drove the car home which was a 35 mile drive. I heard no strange noises at highway speed.

WANT '71 280SEL,

Yes I did did take a look. I don't know if it's what you want. I post a picture Saturday or before. I keep having little things pop up on my 83 300D that has kept me busy.

If the steering gearbox is in good shape (minimal to no leaks and no excessive play) I sure need it. Ship-to code is 60106. Email total if you get a chance.

Do you have the exterior moldings on both passenger-side doors, with all the clips?
