FS- m103 from 300TE with rebuilt head - PeachParts Mercedes-Benz Forum

I'm planning on removing the rebuilt head from this engine and selling it by itself, but figured I'd make sure nobody wanted the whole engine first.

Pulled from a 1990 300TE, was a 1-owner car with 179K. Had a blown head gasket, just oil in coolant, not vice versa. I replaced the head gasket with Mercedes parts and also replaced the timing chain and guides. Unfortunately, the car had some sort of electrical issue or a CIS issue and I never could get it to run right. I know the timing is correct and we even compression tested the engine - posted great, consistent numbers. Before I could resolve what I presume is a CIS issue, I ended up deciding to do a diesel swap because I found a turbo 190D donor drivetrain.

During the head gasket job I had the head gone over by a respected local machinist who resurfaced the head and did a valve job. Cam is in excellent shape.

So, long story short, I'm selling an M103 head that was just rebuilt, or I'm selling an M103 long block if you're interested in the whole thing. I'll include fuel distributor and stuff but you should assume it is bad. Located in Columbus, Ohio. $350.

If you just want the head I can remove it so that it's something that can be shipped. Waiting to do that for now in case someone wants the long block, I'd like to avoid wasting the new head gasket if at all possible...

quick update, head is going to come off this weekend and I will be scrapping the block if nobody is interested in whole engine- need to get it out of the way.

Head is going to go on eBay this weekend. I'll sell it to a forum member for $250 and I can get you a great deal on shipping if you can't pick up.

If anyone is interested in other engine parts, let me know. This engine had new guides and chain. I would also part with the starter and alternator (OEM, and I know both are functional).
