16" OEM M-B Wheels ????

I am looking for a set of 16" M-B OEM wheels for my 1987 300SDL W126.
The present wheels are 6.5 x 15 with 25mm offset & 5 x 112mm lug holes.

Can anybody tell me which year & model M-B OEM 16" wheels will fit my car ?
I would prefer the 8-Hole design but will consider anything.
Thanks

Smile Tires and wheels

I just purchaced a set of tires and wheels from the "Tire Rack". The 8 Hole w140 type wheel. It "updates my 91 350SD very nicely. May I add that I shopped around and they were the best deal.

That is definitely my fall-back position.
I was just hoping there might be an OEM alternative that would fit, but I guess not.
Thanks.

wheels

BTW ..... The new wheels and tires are 16 ".
The factory OEM 8 hole wheels have a different off set (51) as opposed to my 15 hole wheels 21.5 off set. So the upgraded wheels have the correct off set as well.

I have seen the W140 Wheels on e-bay, but it is my understanding that they won't fit even with spacers, because the lug bolt diameter is larger than a W126.

The 16x8 wheels that I got off of a R129 won't fit my SDL. Want to buy them? I than purchased a set of wheels and tires from Tirerack, that was the way to go.

If they won't fit your SDL I doubt they will fit mine and I don't need any more garage ornaments

But the 8 hole that came with the w140's are 16x7.5 I think. These will fit your car, you will just have to replace the tires with 225/55/16's because the W140 tires are to large. I have been running 16x7.5 Bello wheels on mine for a few thousand miles so far with no problems. The W126 really likes a wider tire.

Unless somebody knows something different??

I think I will end up buying some aftermarket wheels 16" x 7.5" and fit 225/55/16 tires. I need another set anyway as I want to use the original rims for winter tires.

Tirerack sells 8 hole rims for the W126's. They are made by the same company that made my rims I think. You will like the quality they do a good job painting and finishing the wheel. My wheels look a lot more expensive that $150 each that they cost me.

Buying wheels is a pita, no one know's for sure what will fit and won't fit. I have a $600 set of 8 hole rims sitting in the basement that are 1/2 an inch to wide for my car. It was an expensive lesson, buying a set of new aftermarket rims is the way to go. Also you really do not want to use spaces on these cars.

Hatterasguy:
I see two 8-Hole Wheels on the Tire Rack website.
One is an ASA Type 8 and the other is an AT Italia Type 8.
Do you know what make you have and does anybody else have any experience with either model?
Prices are $119 & $129 respectively which is very reasonable for a new wheel that will fit correctly.

I have AT Bello's I am happy with them, AT makes a nice wheel. If you order a complete package from Tirerack, the tires will come mounted right and perfectly balanced. Not to mention they throw in a free set of lug bolts and 4 Mercedes center caps. I was extremly happy with my rims and tires I ordered from them, if you can't tell!
