Nokian

After not being able to find plain steel wheels for my '95 E320, I put on 4 Nokian WR's yesterday. $135 Cdn. each installed. 100,000 Kms warranty, free rotation, balancing and flat repair for the life of the tires.

I live in a very harsh winter climate area and am looking forward to the result.

I bought them at Kal Tire. The only dealer in Saskatoon that sells them. And they sell LOTS of them. The Nokian website lists dealers. You might want to start there.

rodbaxter,

Hope you like your WR's as much as I do. I've had a set of 4 on my '98 E320 for about 1 year. They perform very well all year round, and are amazingly good in the snow, for an all weather tire. No, they're not as good as a good set of dedicated snow tires, but for my driving and conditions the tires were a perfect solution. The tires are OK-good on ice, but I wouldn't say this is their strongest point.

After 1 year the tires are wearing normally and ride comfort, handling remains like new. When the tires were new they were a bit slippery on wet pavement, but that will lessen over time as the tire wears.

The Nokians, from my own experiences, are hands down the best winter tires for harsh conditions. I've always been very happy with their tires (or should I say "tyres").

Well, we have had ice and snow and cold temps (-20C last week) and the Nokians are awesome! They might be a little soft in the corners but I don't drive hard and I can drive circles around most vehicles. I have found that the car stops perfectly and I have yet to have my ABS even come on.

My wife has a Honda Odyssey (and a cautious driver) and her ABS is on a lot, even with front wheel drive. All in all, I am very happy.
