WTB 15" SDL wheel

The new ride is missing the spare and I need a 15" wheel for it. Preferably, I'd like to find one somewhere close to Austin so I can save $$$ for shipping. I can't remember what these are called (I know they aren't bundt's) but they're the stock wheel for an '87 SDL.

They look like this:

Hey Randy

Congrats on the new ride.

If you can't find a wheel locally, I bet Adsit will have them in stock.

Check a local junk yard which has import parts.

Check with Ben at Bens Workshop in Austin (sorry don't have the # handy) he may have one or know where you can find one. The 15 hole wheels were standard on all W126's from '86-'89 so any model would be good as a junkyard donor - quite often the spare wheels are intact and in good shape.

Good Luck

R Leo,

I am missing my spare also (300SDL). Let me know where you find one that is reasonable.

$150 is cheap, if it is a quality copy. A few years back I bought a new MB wheel for my SDL from the dealer and it cost $400. List was $500. Insurance paid.

Dime a dozen here in South Florida yards. Used one to hold up the hub on a W126 so my friend could remove the shock yesterday. Price is under $20. Those style come in a varity of ET's- many are 49 or in the mid 30's. Usually with a tire on it, so that means if you want one I gotta get it off and wrap it/box it for shipping. $10 for the time/fuel to lauderdale, $10 for tire removal, $10 for packing= $50 plus shipping. Want one and what ET?

The wheel came in two different widths through the years. I know that my '87 has a 1/2 wider wheel than the '88 gassers.

I'm going to try and contact the PO to see if the wheel might be laid up in a storage shed he mentioned having somewhere.

More to follow.

amazing

after 293000 miles it looks like i was the first to open up the spare compartment. both the jack and the wheel looked show room new. I dont think they ever changed their own flats.
i couldnt get over how new and shiny the wheels once were. i like my grey/black dust brake finish on the other 4
