w126 max ET's and tire size

I am wanting wheels that have the deep dish look and more wheel lip, but I am not which ET will create this look.

Also, what are the max tire sizes that can be used on 16" 17" and 19" wheels? Can the ET effect the tire size you can use?

Thanks

Generally, a lower offset will create a 'deeper dish' for a particular rim width. The original AMG rims for the 126 were of sizes 15x7 E25 or E15, 16x7.5 E17, 16x8 E11, 16x9 E0, 17x8 E11, 17x8.5 E18 and 17x10 E18 (rear only). Other rim sizes are available from other manufacturers but this would be a good place to start.

The maximum tyre size will depend on the rim size you have. The most common rim sizes from that list is 16x8 E11 with 225/50-16 front and either 225/50-16 or 245/45-16 rear.

I have 20's on my 4 x 4 Suburban with 305/50/20's tires. I love the look, but will all that rubber on the road, they really force you to concentrate on steering A LOT. Don't want the same effect in my 300SDL, and definitely don't want the ride to lessen.
