Anybody running Michelin Harmony tires?

Sorry for posting in the "wrong" forum. I trust dieselers more than I trust the SL / AMG / Sportline crowd(s).

I need to re-tire the wife's Lincoln. The 75,000 mile Bridgestones are pretty much toast at 60,000. One of the tires under consideration is the Michelin Harmony. Tire-Rack reviews are generally good, way better than the reviews on the Michelin Symetry 's which I am happily running on my 123's. Anybody have any comments on the Harmony's??

Jeff (BoostnBenz) has Harmony's on the W123. You might e-mail him to see how they are doing.

If you don't intend to drive it like a racecar, I think the Hydroedge would do a better job for you. They are better in all aspects, however, the sidewall is a little softer and the speed rating is T, IIRC.

I was just notified by Michelin to stop using my used tires . . . especially when hitting 180+ mph going into banked turn 13 at Indy . . .

I replaced my MXV4s with Harmonys on my 400E last fall. I bought them from a tire shop that I've had good experience with, but when I later asked the person at another shop about the Harmony for my Mercedes he looked at me like I was silly and said "That's a Truck Tire! Why would you want to put it on your Mercedes?"

I do have two observations:

Upon hard accelleration from a stop on wet pavement I lose traction on the rear wheels when the engine hits the power curve (about 3500-4000 RPM.) I can't say I feel it would hydroplane or anything, but I've put 100k miles on the car previously and never experienced such a tendency.

I also have developed a slight instability in the car as if it were steering from the rear just a tad when making sudden, but slight steering corrections at higher speeds. I definitely need rear shocks. My shop could not find anything loose or worn in the rear suspension, but I started noticing the "floating" feeling just after getting the Harmony tires.

With 200k+ miles and bad shocks I can't be certain that the handling difference can be attributed to the tires, but the wet slippage can be nothing else. While they are smooth, quiet, and round, it is my intention to pass them on and get something else for my Mercedes.

I have mixed feelings about putting them on my son's Honda Accord 4 cylinder... (Yes, it uses the same tire size.)

Hmm... You may have good results on a Lincoln...
These things have a great treadwear rating!

Good Luck!
