Tires

Hi
My tire size is 205/70/14s, the default for the car is 195/70/14s, my question is do the tire inflation pressure on the driver size door 28psi and 32 psi rear which are for 195/70/14s still apply to the 205/70/14s.
Thanks:D

I always run higher pressure in my W126's. I run about 32 with the stock wheels and I was up to 35 or 36 last summer on my larger aftermarket ones. They are big heavy cars a little higher pressure makes them handle and track a bit better.

the original question, i dont think that using larger tires will affect the required pressure.

but they will fit your wheel differently and you prob should keep an eye on the wear patterns. if it wears in the center the pressure is too high, the outsides the pressure is too low.

higher pressures will give crisper handling at the expense of harsher ride. also slightly better mileage. and they will last a bit longer as long as they dont wear in the center or edges.

i tend to run a little more pressure than called for too.

I run between 6-8psi over the fuel door rated pressures. Works out great.

I have 225 60 r16's

I run 34psi in all my cars front and rear. I get about 60k miles on my Jetta at that psi.
