'82 300TD resto project: rims?
OK, I got to play with the restoration project wagon today, I need to decide if I want to restore a set of Bundt's or these 15" MSW OZ rims vintage '86 or '87...

well
since you have the abs wheels, and if you are on a budget (who isnt?) then i prob would clean up them bead blast them and get them professionally painted. then if you decide you dont like them all that much you can always sell them along especially if they are looking fine.

Personally, I like the Bundts better, and if you are really doing a "restoration" you should consider using the correct wheels. It really depends which you like better.

I restored mine with 10 bucks worth of silver metallic spray paint and a couple of hours.....they are five-foot wheels....from five feet away, they look pretty good.

I've done Bundts before using Aircraft stripper an Brillo pads to remove the old paint. Aircraft stripper eats right through the 20+ year old layer of brake dust/gunk on the inside too.. The several layers of high temp silver and a shot of clear for good measure... I like that the these are 15" and my tire choices are better than the 14" Bundts. Hmmmmm

I'll take those 15" OZ rims off your hands if you decide against using them. What other rims fit a 123 chassis car? Because I really like the Bundts, but 14" tire choices are kind of slim. Steel wheels would even be fine by me. A 123 on 16" Mini Cooper style rally wheels would be sexy.

bundts
I had the 14" bundts on my '83 TD powder coated for $150. I expect the finish to outlast the car. They look just right on the 123s. - JA
