Hi All, I have an 87 190E with stock 15" rims. Last year I decided to get a spare set of rims for snow tires. I found a set of 14" rims from an earlier 190E. What a great feeling doing something ahead of time! So when I went to bolt them on they would not fit. They hit against the brake calipers! The question is: Can I put spacers on them? Or should I just get another set of rims? Thanks!!

No, that won't do it--
There was a substantial running change in production around 12/84 and another around 2/87. The late wheel will retrofit to the earlier car, but not vice/versa. You'll need the 15" wheel to clear the brakes and struts; spacers aren't going to do the job. And even if they would, that's not something you really want to do. I've got a few of the late style wheels, if you need one, you can have one for cheap. Hope this helps.
