This is for a 1983 240D. I currently have the wheels that accept the hub cap and actually like the look. Apparently, at one point in time the wheels were exposed to the propane fix-flat products. Anyway some of the wheels are corroding and causing the tires to leak. I am not sure how many of the wheels have been exposed to this. I have had to have a tube put in one of the tires. The only place I have been able to find used wheels is Aurora in Washington, so after freight they are about $30 each. I have replaced the spare and have one more when I replace the other tires. The tires are General and I absolutely hate them, I often lose traction in the Florida rains, but there is more than a significant amount of tread left. I have been presented with an opportunity to purchase a set of the bundt cake pan wheels with Michelin tires for about $200. The wheels are 14", with 15 oval slots, but I was told that they came off of a 126 body style car.
I have kept the car pretty original, but I am trying to fix it up for my daughter and want to make sure everything is in great condition when I give it to her.
So, my question is, will these wheels fit my car.
Can anyone provide any guidance or recommendations on what course of action I should pursue here.
