bah, wasn't paying attention and hit a curb today. Good thing I have the single-piece Brabus Monoblock V's instead of the multipiece hehe.

Are there shops that will repair the wheel? Or is there anything I can do to cover up that nasty scuff mark?

thanks

jl

A good body shop will put you onto a reputable outfit. In the UK the best bodyshops are Porsche approved.

I don't know how bad the scuff is, however my father had miracles performed on his 996 Sport Design 2 18" wheels. These are a two piece wheel with a polished rim, supposedly unrepairable. They were badly scuffed when someone at his office put the car through a track-type car wash as a favour(!) and the track ground the whole rim about 2.5mm deep all the way round. Now, you would never tell. Cost the equivalent of $120 per wheel and the car was off the road for 2 days.

There are shops around with special machine jigs that will re-true an out-of round rim or ground and repolish a scuffed one. I've seen one shop in California take a destroyed alloy from a off-road racing vehicle and have it look brand new!

Even found a shop in Colorado Springs while on a out-of-town contract. I had run over a stray but well-hidden cast iron water meter cover (bent the alloy rim so badly that the tire seal blew). Got it fixed for $25 and the damage was undetectable!

Found a few on the Internet as well...
