IN my book, no. But I am very sensitive to ride and handling and any weight increase in the wheel tire package will upset my delicate rear end.
There may be somewhat more extensive tire choices for the 15" tires. I have always been able to get the tires I want for the 14" tires (Michelin). Tom W

Welcome - we'd love to see pictures of all the vehicles in your signature because it includes some models we can't get here.
The main reason I like the 15" wheels is for looks. The later 15-hole MB wheels look better on the W123 and W126 than the older 14" Bundt cake pan wheels that were original. The secondary reason is that tire selection is a little better in the 15" size than the 14" size. But not really that much better. Ken300D

Some increase the diameter to effectively lower the axle ratio.
Late W126 and W107 flat face will have the correct offset for the W123 if you want to stick with original styles in 15" They just do not look "right" IMHO on the w123. Try for a set of Ronal R-9s, BBS wire spoke, or the rare 15 bundts. All period, look great, and give you the 15" tire. Look for an offset that is around 23-26mm. late model 41-49mm offset give a knock-kneed appearance due to the extreme negative offset. Jim
